International Association of Astacology (IAA)
17th Symposium
August 4-8, 2008
Kuopio, Finland

PROGRAM FOR ALL

Official scientific program overview is added here now. The detailed program is going also to be released but maybe later. Later is NOW!

Preliminary scientific program is below (yellow bits), with special scientific program highligted with dark yellow. Just for the sakes of comparison.

The organisers have invited three keynote speakers to cover some of the most interesting and hot topics in crayfisheries: professor Pierre Horwitz (Edith Cowan University, Western Australia), professor Keith Crandall (Brigham Young University, USA) and professor Trude Vrålstad (National Veterinary Institute, Norway). The keynote speakers will add some focus on the IAA17 scientific program with emphasis on conservation, molecular biology and crayfish plague.

There will be a semi-loose program for accompanying persons with Mrs Tuija Jussila and Mr Markku Henttonen creating lively set of activities. Kuopio sightseeing of both urban and nature sites is a must with visits to market place, harbor cafes and Puijo hill nature tracks. Accompanying persons can, and are of course encouraged to, attend IAA 17 symposium social program (blue background).

Below is a preliminary program with rough outline of the schedule for scientific program and social bits. We have planned the schedule targeting for the key speaker disciplines, but we will accept any presentation dealing with the freshwater crayfish world. So, there are bound to be changes when the deadline for abstracts approaches, be prepared. Colors explained in the paragraphs above.
